Bankruptcy Filing Fees & Court Costs
Individuals filing for bankruptcy are required to pay a filing fee, which is the cost of filing your case in court. The three most commonly used sections of bankruptcy law are Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and Chapter 11, all of which have different associated costs.
Courts also require that individuals filing for bankruptcy take a credit counseling and financial management class, which also requires a fee.
Chapter 7

Chapter 13
Filing fee paid prior to filing of case: $0
Mandatory credit counseling fee prior to filing: $0
Bankruptcy court filing fee (paid through Chapter 13 trustee): $313
